Hottest coach in Hawaii
NO, we're not talking June Jones here. The hottest coach in the islands
right now may well be photog Russell Tanoue. Aside from his photography
of beautiful women (a nasty job, but somebody has to do it!), Tanoue is also a
pageant coach. He coached Miss Hawaii USA Juliet Lighter to victory last
May and will be in Indiana at the Miss USA Pageant for some last-minute grooming
tips for Juliet before the competition is shown live on CBS next Friday. Russell
also helped whip up a win with Miss Hawaii Denby Dung and helped Mrs.
Hawaii International Monique Hsia win the photogenic award, evening gown
competition and a third place finish in the national pageant in Tennessee. Most
recently, Tanoue coached and groomed Jennifer Abreu who won the Miss
Waikiki & Diamond Head Pageant at Mamiya Theater. I wonder if he needs an
assistant? ...
WE'RE being shown amniocentesis photos of the pregnant Channel 9 newscaster Kim
Gennaula in a series on childbirth. So can "preparing a wedding"
stories be far behind at Channel 2 where the striking Malia Mattoch, in
her thirties and in no hurry, is at last getting married ... She was lost in the
madness surrounding Janet Jackson doing an Aloha Stadium concert and HBO
special simultaneously, but sister LaToya Jackson was also in town for
the show ...
Aloha Knoxville
THE news operations manager of WATE-TV in Knoxville, Tenn., is Paul Wilson,
who used to work at KGMB and KITV. He read here about the "Live Aloha"
bumper stickers created by Paul Klink and wants to get one to go with the
Hawaii license plate on his car. I advised him he could order them free at www.hawaiian.com
