THE PIRANHA ROOM ROCKS BIGGER THAN EVER: Rumors spread about the supposed demise of Russell Tanoue's popular Piranha Room parties were laid to rest in a big way last weekend as Tanoue, second from left, presented a two-night Piranha Room Halloween Party at the Ocean Club on Saturday and Sunday. Joining Tanoue at his table on Sunday were comedienne Cathy Tanaka, left, record producer Laka Carpenter and Valerie Seagrave.

ALONG CAME A SPIDER: Lance Rae, left, wasn't dressed as a Goth Spider-Man, but a large black-and-silver spider was the focal point of his costume on Sunday. Kehau Christian, center, improvised an eye-catching Pocahontas outfit, and dashing Mark Okano showed the ladies a lot of skin as he celebrated in a feather mask, cape and trousers. Deanne Fee also got a lot of attention when she arrived after midnight costumed as an ultra-feminine Rambo-type character.

AND HEEEERE'S GREG: Veteran hair and make-up design specialist Greg Howell, second from left, checked out the Piranha Room on Sunday with Samantha Bass, left, Stan Wu and Peter Hartley. Howell's next stage project is doing the hair and make up for Manoa Valley Theatre's upcoming production of "Red Herring," which opens Nov. 17.

AND ONE FOR "LENNY!": Ocean Club waitress April Stoltz, center, talked with Donna Chun and "Lenny Kravitz" as she squeezed through the capacity crowd around midnight. The Ocean Club chefs outdid themselves once again by creating a heavy pupu buffet that included juicy slabs of fried "bat" (actually butterfish), candied apples and other seasonal fare.

THIS WAY TO "MOULIN ROUGE": Cescel Alhambra, left, April Bolfa and Tiana Lacar added color and excitement to the Piranha Room on Sunday. Alhambra said her colorful costume was inspired by Nicole Kidman's 2001 film, "Moulin Rouge." Based on crowd reaction, the trio will be welcome back to dance at the Piranha Room any time.
