‘Happy Birthday, Russell!’
|
CELEBRATING FOR CHARITY: Michelle Kennedy, left, Jason
Ulep, second from left, and Juliet Lighter congratulated
celebrity photographer Russell Tanoue, the host and guest of
honor Saturday at his "Angels on the Rocks" birthday party at
the Ocean Club. Tanoue produces the annual party as a
fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society and Project Shine, a
personal non-profit program that uses the magic of photography
to boost the spirits of cancer survivors and victims of domestic
violence. Anita Hall and dancers from Ulep's Hypersquad Dance
Company were featured entertainers. Tanoue returns to the Ocean
Club on July 30 when the Piranha Room introduces a new theme
with "Ocean Drive."

IN FROM LAS VEGAS: Alvin Yeh flew in from Vegas for the
big event. His girlfriend, Michelle Kennedy, introduced him to
her friends, sisters and mother, who also attended the party.
Kelly Hu sent a video of congratulations. Two local television
stations produced fake news stories as their contribution to the
festivities.

IT'S COLD IN HERE!: Donna Chun was feeling chilly so Ash
Tsuji gave her a hug. Tsuji stopped by with Jimi Wheeler after
they got out of rehearsals for Disney's "Beauty and the Beast"
at Diamond Head Theatre. The show opens tonight.

MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS: Kaitlyn Metcalf, right, met
designer Chelsea Gines, and her mother, Jo Dee Gines of Pink C.
Metcalf's mother, Jane Metcalf, also attended the party, and
exercised her prerogative to wear a color other than angel white
-- always-fashionable black.

SIDNEY AND THE GUYS: Sidney Louie, front, partied with
Michael Lunde, left, Travis Hanakahi and Ben Martino. Louie is
handling public relations tasks for the Hawaii Shakespeare
Festival, which continues tomorrow with "Romeo and Juliet" and
