Being
in the movie, television production buisness for the past 15 years, I have as a
stylist worked with the emmy winners and those who are striving to be.
The film industry is very competitive, and can be very backbiting . From
crew to actress, long hours and difficult locations can bring out the worst in
one. I have learned to observe people and look for a stability,
consistency in character, which brings me to Mr. Tanoue. Russell has shown patience when shoots were running behind because his stylist was slow. A gentle kindness when models were having a bad day. He communicates openly and directly. Many times when he himself is exhausted, I watch him try to assist who ever needs it. Most of all...Russell himself is an excellent makeup/hair/wardrobe person....and yet he can step back let another person create a vision, which he accepts . He doesn't try to control or change another stylist style and make it his own. That I find is wonderful. The word to describe the man is effervescent! I am humbled to work with him! Laine E. I've been lucky to know Russell. His work
as a photographer is outstanding. He's done my media headshots, among other things, and I know he'll always make me look my best. What's more important, however, is his work as a humanitarian. Russell is one of the few individuals who shapes his life around helping others. I've seen (and reported about) his work with Project Shine, and have witnessed firsthand the difference he makes in peoples' lives.
