Back in the days of my dancing career, there were only few dancers that swept me off my feet. Anea Carreira is one of them. I had the pleasure of meeting the high kicking, ultra speed spins and perfect leaps Anea, during those days and could not believe how powerful of a dancer she was.  She was partnered up with James Carreira who together always made a statement with their performances.  By far the best I've ever seen.

Anea who's sweet voice and unique giggles was so embracing and always eager to help out or I should say honest with her opinions.  She made me laugh a lot and always awed me with her performances.

I clearly remember on my Dance Fever audition, nervous as a 17 year old can be, Anea and James were amazingly supportive.  James and Anea who were one of the first dancers from Hawaii to represent the state on the national show.  After winning the audition, it was surely their support that gave us the confidence to carry it through.

On my recent blog on myspace.com called "When Angles Fly Home", I was inspired to write it when I got the news of Anea's passing.  The past couple years I have said goodbye to serveral people who've made an impact in my life.  They have all reached their final destination in life, free from the darkness of the world, forever at peace.

"Anea, thank you for your inspiration personally and to all those you've touched along the way.  You have danced your heart out, blessed with 2 sons and, loved and been loved.  You have left your footprints on the hearts of many and now you've flown home."

I can feel you smiling, leaping from star to star.
