Russell Tanoue Photographer's "Heart lines"

Everyday someone impacts our lives in one way or the other.  A word, a gesture, a hug, a smile and unexpected pleasures.  We continue to walk our journeys, meet new heights, challenges and find ourselves anew.  We strive for happiness, we search and search, reach higher and higher.  Years gone past, older we are, but oh yes, memories bring us back where we simply laughed and embraced the light of that someone.  We rarely get to really say good bye, they leave quietly, gently they fly above.

Heartlines is about those that passed on, to a place unknown, our final destination.

The words we share that etch our hearts will always be there to remind us that of one's existence.  Like the time my friend Shawn Yamanouchi said, "you are the most colorful person I know." And till this day, I thank him for those words for they keep me in one piece.

Recently I have had to say goodbye to so many.  You can never be prepared for it and lost of words is where I usually find myself.  But, lately I have found a place within myself to which I connect with peace.  Having my little scare in September of 2005,  brought me to a place I've never been.  So keeping that at heart, I will assume when your time arrives, surrendering to God is the most peaceful moment on this earth.  Every material thing and vibe falls under you and your last breath are filled with "light" and acceptance of rising above to where it all really begins.

"Let us remember their spirit that touched  us."
