I have been meaning to send you a note for about three or four years and I finally got around to it this evening.

 

At one time, I headed Reed Kaina Schaller Advertising and from time to time models visited us with a portfolio mainly composed of photographs you had taken.  They were always impressive and showed the girls to their best.

And, more importantly, we used several of the girls in advertising for clients the agency handled at that time.

 

I had always wanted to congratulate you on the job you had done, but just never got around to it.  

 

Tonight as I was looking over the latest issue of MidWeek and noticed your page, I decided that the time for procrastination was over.

 

All I wanted to do was say thank you for taking the time to help these young models (both men and women) find themselves and present themselves in a unique, contemporary and professional way.

I just returned last night  from Washington, DC, where I joined 10,000 "Ambassadors" and supporters for the
American Cancer Society's "Celebration on the Hill" national event.  We ask our members of Congress to
continue to fund cancer research and treatment.  We also told them that if we could stop tobacco use, we'd
could avoid 35% of the cancers that are related to smoking.

So, this morning as I was reading the Sept. 22 issue of MidWeek, I was delighted to read Russell's story in
Yu Shing's column "on The Move" on page 30.  The most effective messages come from those who "walk the
talk".  I know your story will influence others to follow your example.  So, Mahalo to you both for
contributing to our mutual cause--to avoid the illnesses and death that are caused by smoking and
tobacco use.
